September Challenge–Move More

Friday afternoon Maribel, Inez (our daughter), and I were done with work. What to do?

One of our favorite things.

We walked to our little gym to work out. Inez and Maribel focused on legs. I worked on a yoga calisthenics sequence along with handstands. What a great feeling to feel the body move and enjoy the stretching and strengthening that are part of this process!

By the end of our session, we hooked up the yoga trapeze and we hung upside down and played superhero for another’s 15 minutes or so. As we finished Maribel and I thought of you and how many of you showed up and worked out and practiced together this week!

You are amazing! I saw some sweaty yogis in my class more than once. Many of you enjoyed “hot working out” in our garage, and a whole bunch of you worked out hard together at Continental Park. This is powerful.

We are reclaiming our strength, flexibility, and balance, one session at a time!

I’m reminded that movement is powerful! It can help the body get stronger and more flexible and also, surprisingly, bring more joy and gratitude.

The brain changes as we move and breathe differently. We know this from research on yoga and meditation. Take a look at the 8 minute video.

As you can see from the presentation, what we are doing together not only affects the body but the mind and the aging process.

With that in mind, we want to invite you to our September Challenge. Currently, we are teaching 4 yoga sessions and 2 fitness camp sessions per week. Many of you are coming to two of these sessions.

The September Challenge has to do with increasing that number without breaking the bank. Instead of two sessions, we would love to see a large number, if not all of you, come three or four or six times per week.

To make this economically feasible, we are offering a September promotion that would give you access to all of the classes we offer at Continental Park (32 for the month) for $75.  The hook is that you would pay at the start of the month. This is important because it will encourage you to show up rather than give yourself a pass when you may be feeling tired from work.

As long as we have breath and capacity, we owe it to ourselves to use these vessels, our bodies, for the greatest good for the longest period of time. Moving more will help us all do this.

Talk to Maribel or me during this coming week if you are in.
