Meditation Practice on Sunday, March 22

Hi there. The past days have been ones of intense fear for most of us. Like a storm battered shore, fear comes at us like wind and waves. For us who have hurricane experiences, the house is rattling and we don’t know how long and if the structure will hold.

At a time like this, trying to hold on to normalcy is a failing endeavor. The harder we grip to our past sense of security, the more fear bears down on us, leaving us with fewer resources to address the moment at hand.

I keep coming back to this and in the midst of horrendous worry for my loved ones, ask myself if I can surrender to the moment just as it is. This surrender is not about being irresponsible and failing to heed what our medical professionals are telling us. No, the surrender is internal. It is one of letting go of the story about the future and allowing the present moment to be just as it is.

This letting go is not an intellectual experience. It is a felt sense, one that can be discovered and nurtured and right now is a good time to practice.

Join me this Sunday night (3/22) at 8:30 PM for a 30-minute felt sense practice that you can use and make your own during these trying times. We will meet via Zoom. If you’re interested, here’s the information to participate:
