Regaining Trust

When there was a break in our rainy weather today, I got a chance to walk our yard. We live in a tropical hardwood hammock. As I turned the corner of our lot, I smelled the familiar damp earth, the gumbo limbo, oak, and mahogany leaves decomposing mixing with the oxygen exuding from the trees. I felt my body healing just a little bit more. I felt home.

Sensing more energy and less pain, I was able to do a small workout and some light yoga. As I sat on my mat, an overwhelming sense of gratitude flooded my mind and heart. This short practice allowed me to sense the body and continue to regain trust in it’s capacity. I understand that the fracture was not just physical.

As I folded forward and grabbed my toes, I inwardly bowed to all of my teachers, my healers, my beloved community of family and friends. I know that without you, I would not be here.
Keep me in your prayers and thoughts. Remember to celebrate your blessings. Water the seeds of community. Regain your own trust. You are beyond amazing. -carlos
